An Indiana county's community foundation has awarded more than $69,000 in grants to help people with mental health issues.

The grants were announced by the Johnson County Community Foundation this week, the Indianapolis Star reports.

The foundation was created in 2022 with a $10,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to fund long-term mental health initiatives in Johnson County.

The eight organizations to receive grants this year are: Johnson County Memorial Hospital Foundation $30,000 for mental health counseling for youth in Johnson County Memorial Hospital.

$8,200 for therapy supplies Upstream Prevention $6,000 for the Walk Suicide Out of Our County event Every 60 Minutes $2, for teacher kits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana $2,500 to continue serving Johnson County youth mental health initiatives: Collaborative Inc.

$30,000 for mental health counseling for youth in Johnson County Memorial Hospital Foundation $10,000 for ConnectHub Virtual Journey Center of Indiana $7,200 for therapy supplies Upstream Prevention $6,000 for the Walk Suicide Out of Our County event Every 60 Minutes Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana $2,500 to continue serving Johnson County youth mental health initiatives: Collaborative Inc.
